Why do I need data for CO2e optimization?

  • For Insight & analysis for identification of levers for future optimization.
  • To set a benchmark for future projects and laying the foundation for active CO2e management.
  • For Credible internal and external stakeholder communication and reporting backed by data.

How do we ensure data security and protection?

  • We place the utmost importance on security and reliability, offering a hosting service built on the robust and secure infrastructure of Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Strict adherence to German data protection laws, globally recognized security standards, and security certificates, including ISO 27001, ISO 27017, and ISO 27018
  • Implementation of the Least Privilege Principle to prevent unauthorized data access, granting permissions only where absolutely necessary
  • Ensuring stability and security through separate environments for Staging and Production
  • Minimizing the risk of human errors and unauthorized access through automated deployments
  • Continuous backups and high availability as integral parts of AWS RDS database services
  • Data protection at rest through strong encryption technologies, ensuring the encryption and protection of stored data
  • Encrypted and protected data transmissions between our servers and end devices through HTTPS communication, safeguarding against unauthorized access

How does the data flow process work?

  • Project Creation:
The project is created by the project owner. The project creation process covers basic data such as timings, project scope and dimension. The data collection process is kick-off by creating individual supplier requests.
  • Data Collection:
The supplier receives the request for information and is tasked to deliver input for the defined scope. The data input is prepared for the supplier to put the project related data in efficiently and error-free.
  • CO2e Calculation:
The project data is matched with emission data from our very own emission data base. The project carbon footprint is calculated in high granularity.
  • CO2e Report and Dashboards:
The results of the calculation are shown in reports and dashboards that reduce the figures into surveyable insights. On a granular project level and in consolidated management dashboards.

Why is the Calculator based on Net Zero Carbon Event?

Net Zero Carbon Event is an industry initiative to address climate change in over 60 countries, with 600+ signatories and 150+ financial supporters. It was initiated in 2021 at COP26 in Glasgow, by the Joint Meetings Industry Council (JMIC) and is in line with the UNSDGs and the Paris Agreement: Net Zero until 2050 and 50% reduction until 2030.

The goals are to:

  • Jointly communicate the industry’s commitment to tackling climate change and driving towards net zero by 2050
  • Develop common methodologies for measuring the industry’s greenhouse gas emissions across the supply chain
  • Foster collaboration within the industry among suppliers and customers to ensure alignment and common approaches
  • Establish common mechanisms for reporting progress and sharing best practice

The approach and methodology of the Net Zero Carbon Event initiative will be the reporting standard for the event industry. And our Green Gen Calculator Pro translates exactly this mechanism into a software.
